came to me when I died in a dream.
He bid me to ride over the black and whirling Styx
And pay witness to fate, in the rising mist, with spirits unknown.

"Fallen Night, daughter of Chaos, sister of Darkness,
hang heavy your pestilent shade over this man.
Let your children hold and twist the threads of fate."
So prayed Death, and drew His knife. . .

Thanatos said I must stand proud and accept mortality.
"Any world beyond is better than suffering through life.
Be cursed to wander, cast in no light, in aeonian sleep.
No heaven or hell! Let's cut through fate! Pray now to Death everlasting!"
